Regional Institute of Paramedical & Nursing Sciences (RIPANS), Aizawl was established in 1995-1996 under North Eastern Council (NEC). The Institute conducted the following programs from the academic year 1996.

• B.Sc (Nursing)
• Diploma in Laboratory Technology (D-MLT)
• Certificate program in Laboratory Technology (C-MLT)
• Diploma in X-Ray Technology
• Diploma in Pharmacy
• Diploma in Electro Cardiography (ECG)
• Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology (OT)
• Multipurpose Health Worker program.

The above programs were run by few qualified teaching faculty and supporting staff initially. However, Govt. of Mizoram rendered necessary help and services in all possible ways including man power and infrastructure. RIPANS shall ever remain grateful to the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Mizoram for donating us their prime land in Zemabawk (near Cancer Hospital) which is 39.60 Bighas.

The overall control and management of the Institute with all its assets and liabilities has also been transferred from NEC to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from 1st April, 2007. Consequently, the presentprogram had all been consolidated to technical degree program. Hence today, we have the following 5-degree programs and three Post Graduate programs, all affiliated to Mizoram University.

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology
• Bachelor of Pharmacy
• Bachelor in Radiography & Imaging Technology
• Bachelor in Optometry & Ophthalmic Techniques

M.Sc Nursing  – 2022-23

The programs are affiliated to Mizoram University and are recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
