ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

1. M.Pharm B.Pharm passed from a recognized University securing not less than 55% maximum marks (aggregate of four years. For SC/ST/OBC and Physically challenged candidate, the prescribed percentage of marks shall be 50% of the maximum mark in qualifying examination. B.Pharm through correspondence program shall not be eligible.
2. M.MLS B.Sc-MLT/ BMLS passed from a recognized University securing not less than 55% maximum marks (aggregate of four years. For SC/ST/OBC and Physically challenged candidate, the prescribed percentage of marks shall be 50% of the maximum mark in qualifying examination. BMLT/BMLS through correspondence program shall not be eligible.
3. M.Sc – Nursing
  1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  2. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of : B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks
  3. The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
  4. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  5. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  6. Candidate shall be medically fit.
  7. 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given.

Note 1 : During the program of study, if a student applies for a job (Government or Private) and subsequently in the event of his/her appointment and joining the same, his/her studentship stands cancelled. Further, the Security Deposit will also be forfeited..

Note 2 : In service candidates should obtain “No Objection Certificate” and approval letter for study leave from the employer.

RESERVATION OF SEATS
  • As per Government of India rules, the benefit of reservation shall be given only to those sections, which are listed in the central list published by the Government of India.
  • Candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, General-Economically Weaker Section (General-EWS) and Person With Disability (PWD) categories will be given reservation as per the Government of India rules i.e. OBC(NCL) - 27%, SC-15%, ST-7.5%, Economically Weaker Section (EWS)-10%. For Person with Disability (PWD) candidates, 5% seats shall be reserved on horizontal basis, subject to the condition that the candidate fulfills the other minimum eligibility requirements. Submission of a certificate to this effect issued by a competent authority/Board (details are given in this Brochure) shall be mandatory at the time of counselling. For the purpose of reservation under Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, a person must comply with Government of India rules.
  • In case the reserved seats remain vacant after counselling, the seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC may be inter changed and would be filled in. Even If the seats belonging to SC/ST/OBC category candidates remain vacant and the lists of both the SC/ST/OBC categories are exhausted, the remaining vacant seats shall be filled by the unreserved category (UR) candidates.
Certificates Required for Reserved Categories
  • Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes: Each SC/ST candidate has to submit a self attested copy of the Certificate issued by the Competent Authority mentioning that the candidate belongs to SC/ST category.
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC - NCL): The candidates belonging to OBC-NCL category as listed by the Central Government must submit a self-attested copy of certificate issued by the competent authority. The OBC-NCL certificate should clearly mention that the candidate belongs to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL). The OBC-NCL candidate will be required to produce original income certificate having validity on the date of counselling. If no validity date is mentioned in the certificate, then it should have been issued in the financial year 2023-24.
  • Person With Disability (PWD): Visually Impaired and/ or Hearing Impaired and/or Orthopedically Handicapped (on horizontal reservation basis) candidates, have to submit a self-attested copy of Disability Certificate issued by the District Chief Medical Officer/Medical Board. The disability benefits will be given to those candidates only who have at least 40% physical impairments. The percentage of disability should be mentioned in the certificate.
  • General-Economically Weaker Section (General-EWS): The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
  • PG admission in Pharmacy shall be strictly based on valid GPAT score only.No Entrance Test for admission to PG Programs in Pharmacy shall be conducted by RIPANS.
  • For admission in M.MLS and M.Sc-Nursing programs,
    • - Candidates who are found to be eligible will be called for Entrance Examination which will be held at RIPANS, Zemabawk, Aizawl, Mizoram.
    • - Question paper will consist of 100 questions of objective type with a single correct response out of four options. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded 1 (one) mark and there will be no negative marking. If more than one answer is indicated against a question, it will be deemed as incorrect response. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
    • - Entrance examination Cut off mark is 40%.
    • - The entrance examination will comprise of the following subjects:

    • - Result of the Entrance Test in Order of Merit will be declared within 6 days of completion of the Entrance Examination and will be displayed on the Institute’s website at www.ripans.ac.in. No correspondence regarding results will be issued to individual candidate
    • - There will be no provision for rechecking/reevaluation of answer sheets or communication of marks obtained at the entrance examination.
    • - Candidates will be called for counseling for admission in order of merit from the published result of the Entrance Examination. List of candidates called for counseling will be made available in the Institute’s website.
    • - Candidates selected after counseling and Medical Examination shall have to pay the Admission fee/dues, etc. on the appointed date and get themselves admitted to the program, failing which his/her selection shall be treated as cancelled and seat will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list in order of merit.
    • - Selected candidates who have been admitted but failed to join the program within a week after the commencement of the academic session shall automatically stand to forfeit their seat and no correspondence shall be entertained.
    • - All students admitted to the Institute will have to give an undertaking counter signed by parents/legal guardian, that he/she shall maintain good conduct, pay the requisite fees and other charges by the scheduled date, attend classes regularly and abide by the rules and regulations of the Institute failing which he/she is likely to be suspended or terminated as a student of the Institute.
    • - The selection of candidates will be made strictly in order of merit of the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Entrance Examination.
  • In the matter of selection, the decision of the Director and Admission Committee, RIPANS, Aizawl, shall be final.
COUNSELING
  • Candidates will be called for interview strictly in order of merit based on the marks obtained by them in the entrance examination. The number of candidates to be called for the interview will be three times the total number of seats to be filled in each category. It is compulsory for the candidates to attend the interview.
  • Candidates are required to produce all original documents for verification at the time of counseling.
  • Admission will not be considered unless the candidates produce all the original documents at the time of counseling.
  • Candidates who failed to attend counseling on the notified date shall forfeit their claim for admission and placement in the waiting list.
If any candidate is found to have supplied false information, certificate(s) etc. or is found to have concealed or withheld some information in her/his application form, she/he shall be debarred from Admission or any other action may also be taken against her/him that is considered appropriate by the Director of the Institute.
ADMISSION
