Special lecture on the topic "The diverse importance of Himalayan plants, its phytoconstituents and the synthetic route for cancer drug development" through online delivered by Dr. Prof. Deepak Kumar, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemical chemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University, Himachal Pradesh on 27th September, 2024 at 4:00 P.M. The lecture was attended by students of M.Pharm (1st and 3rd Semester) and 7th Semester B.Pharm. In this session, the Resource Person shared insights on the plant based drug discovery approach with special reference to cancer drug development. He focused on different approaches for plant selection, their authentication, extraction and isolation of pure compounds. He highlighted about the structural elucidation and synthesis of pure compounds, and emphasized on the molecular modelling and in-silico screening for new analogues. He also talked about the pharmacological and toxicological aspects of plant extract in respect to cancer drug development. After the presentation, the Resource Person had successful interactive session with the students.
