To provide a baseline imaging for age-appropriate patients who can undergo X-ray mammographic screening and give hands-on practice for students
The registration
process for patients was opened on 10.00 am and the screening was started at
11:00 am. Two patients who were of appropriate age (i.e., 48 and 58 years
respectively) were screened and films were presented. One patient (43 years)
was lactating and was advised to undergo screening after she was done with
breast feeding her child. Five patients (ages 26, 28, 29, 32 and 34 years respectively)
were also sent away and advised to undergo either an ultrasound scan or do
X-ray mammography screening when they attain the recommended age.Outcomes/Impact:
Students were able to see the positioning and exposure done. They were also
given guidance on what kind if appropriate questions to ask while taking
patients history and instructions to be given for the kind of modality to be
used for imaging according to patients age. Activity Co-ordinated by: Dr.
