On 21st October 2025, the 5th semester B.Optometry students visited the Natural History Museum, Mizoram University as part of their Environmental Studies practical syllabus.The group departed at 9:30 AM and reached the museum at around 11:00 AM. Before the tour, a briefing and demonstration session was conducted by Dr. Lalrotluanga, the museum curator. He explained the various species preserved in the museum and detailed the preservation methods used.The museum features a wide range of specimens—reptiles, plants, moths, and more—all native to Mizoram. Students had the opportunity to observe endemic and endangered species, as well as recently discovered plant species from the state.
In the Herbarium Section, various preserved plant species were displayed, and students learned about herbarium techniques. Each student prepared a report based on their observations, which will be submitted as part of their practical record.
