Students and faculty from the Department of Optometry had the privilege of attending the EIVOC Conference 2025 in Chennai, which brought together professionals from around the world. The conference featured sessions on women in optometry, global practice, myopia control, public health, and sports optometry, alongside poster presentations and student quizzes. One of our students won 1st prize in the solo song competition, and our team received the 2nd highest attendance award.As part of the exposure visit, students visited leading institutions including Sankara Nethralaya (18 Aug), Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital (19 Aug), Essilor Luxottica Lens Facility (20 Aug), and Aravind Eye Hospital (20–21 Aug), gaining hands-on experience in clinical and industrial optometry. The visits included rotations through multiple specialty departments and practical demonstrations of diagnostics, treatment, and manufacturing processes.On 23rd August, students visited Aurolab, Madurai, where they observed the production of intraocular lenses and surgical instruments. The program concluded with local visits in Chennai before returning to Aizawl on 29th August 2025.The entire program was a valuable academic and professional experience, bridging classroom learning with real-world practice.
