World Physiotherapy Day 2026 was celebrated by Physiotherapy department, RIPANS on the theme -'Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke' on 7th and 8th september
The Department
of physiotherapy, RIPANS celebrated ‘World Physiotherapy Day, 2026’ on 8th of
September preceded by a successful ‘Free Health Camp’ for the local community,
students and staff of RIPANS on 7th September in RIPANS Hospital, Physiotherapy
OPD in collaboration with the Hospital staff. On the same day 2nd
session, had sessions on Physical activity competitions in the Indoor Sports
Complex among the students of RIPANS which included Push-up Challenge, Balance
Challenge, Core strength Challenge, Aerobic Fitness Challenge And Hand-grip
strength Challenge.
On 8th September, the Inaugural
program was held in the Conference Hall, Administrative block where respected
Director , RIPANS, Deputy Director, HODs
of different departments were invited along with chief guest Dr. Bhabajyoti
Bora, Head of the Department, Anatomy, ZMC , Aizawl. The session included
inspiring speeches from Deputy director, Director, Chief guest and HOD of the
Physiotherapy department. Afterwards we conducted a competitive poster making
competition and Health Awareness Quiz competition among the students on the
theme of World Physiotherapy day – ‘Prevention and management of Cardiovascular
Diseases and Stroke’ followed by Online lecture on “When Movement Becomes
Medicine: An Auto-Ethnographic Study” by Dr. Radha Kausadikar (PT), MPT in
Sports Physiotherapy and Manual Therapy. We concluded the two-day multi-faceted
programme with distribution of prizes and appreciation certificates for the
competitions.
