‘Zokhua’ Falkawn visit as part of Sociology and Psychology curriculum
The students, along with 2 faculty members: Mrs. Christina Lalrinthari and Mr. Andrew Lalbiaknunga, had a one-day field visit to Zokhua, Falkawn. It is a cultural heritage village,
complete with a ‘living museum’ which shows us a glimpse of thetypical Mizo village. Falkawn
‘Zokhua’ was established in 1992 and is currently undertaken bythe Department of Art and Culture,
Mizoram. The visit is important as it gives
a firsthand exposure to community life, social structures, cultural traditions,
and local health-related practices. Such field visits are an essential
component of experiential learning, enabling students to understand the
socio-cultural factors that influence health, behavior, and well-being.
